The Channel Nine Network Australia renewed The Block: Sky High for a seventh season.
The location for the construction and renovation reality show was established at 142 Park Street, South Melbourne. The building consisted of 5 levels; each couple being allocated a full level to renovate.
Stilcon Scaffolding designed and built the scaffold for Lang Constructions on The Block: Sky High. Stilcon, a client of Scaffolding Software, used sContract-Design to draw the scaffold design, both in 2D and in 3D. The material was then booked out to the job with delivery dockets generated by sContract-Inventory.
According to Daryl Schimmelbusch, manager of Stilcon Scaffolding (www.stilconscaffolding.com.au), “This job was pretty standard for us and simple to design. It included a lift shaft and stair void which required additional scaffold. This was such a high profile job, we actually would have preferred it to be more challenging so we could show off what we can do.
In the end, the actual scaffold built was very similar to the original drawing created using sContract- Design.
Twin sisters Alisa and Lysandra won The Block:Sky High with a profit of $295,000.
“We have been a client of Scaffolding Software since 2008”, Daryl went on to say, “and have embraced the technology by receiving upgrades every year. The 2013 Upgrade was significant because it helped us improve the billing of Labour. It’s always allowed us to help manage scaffold jobs of all sizes, every day and each year, we use the systems to track inventory and utilisation trends per month. The sContract product line generates unique management reports specific to our industry for key decision making.”
